Terms of Use

Welcome to Snapr! These terms explain the rules for using our service. By signing up and using Snapr, you’re agreeing to follow them. If something doesn’t make sense, just ask us at hi@snapr.so.

Last updated: May 14, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Snapr (whether through our web app, mobile app, or any other platform), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree with any part of these terms, please don’t use Snapr. We also ask that you comply with all local laws and regulations in your country—we can’t be responsible if you break the law.

2. Your Account

Creating an Account

When you sign up for Snapr, you’re responsible for providing accurate information and keeping your email and password secure. You agree to:

  • Use a real email address
  • Not share your password with anyone
  • Notify us immediately if you think your account’s been compromised (email hi@snapr.so)
  • Only use one account per person (unless you have permission from us)

Your Responsibility

You’re responsible for everything that happens with your account. If someone else uses it and does something bad, that’s on you. Keep your login info private!

3. What You Can and Can’t Do

You Can:

  • Save, organize, and search your own content
  • Export your data anytime
  • Use Snapr for personal, non-commercial purposes (or commercial purposes if you’re a Pro subscriber)
  • Share feedback and report bugs

You Can’t:

  • Use Snapr to break the law or help others break it
  • Upload malware, viruses, or anything designed to harm systems or people
  • Scrape, crawl, or automate access to Snapr without permission
  • Spam, harass, or impersonate anyone
  • Try to hack, reverse-engineer, or bypass Snapr’s security
  • Use Snapr’s name, logo, or branding without permission
  • Sell or rent access to Snapr (no reselling, please!)
  • Use Snapr to store or distribute illegal content
  • Overload our servers with requests to disrupt service

If you break these rules, we can suspend or delete your account without warning or refund.

4. Your Content

You Own It

You own all the content you upload to Snapr (links, notes, files, images, etc.). You’re giving us permission to store, process, and display it so you can use the service. We don’t own your stuff, and we don’t claim rights to it.

Our License to Use Your Content

By uploading content to Snapr, you’re granting us a worldwide, royalty-free license to:

  • Store and back up your content
  • Process it (like generating AI tags and search embeddings)
  • Display it back to you
  • Use anonymized versions of it to improve Snapr (e.g., analyzing what features people use most)

We won’t use your actual content for marketing, training AI models, or anything else without asking first.

Your Responsibility for Your Content

You’re responsible for your content. Don’t upload:

  • Anything illegal or that violates someone else’s rights
  • Hate speech, harassment, or abuse
  • Copyrighted material you don’t have permission to share
  • Someone else’s private information without consent
  • Anything that could harm Snapr’s infrastructure

If you upload something that breaks these rules, we can delete it and your account without notice.

5. Intellectual Property

Snapr Owns Its Stuff

Snapr, including our code, design, features, branding, and everything else we built, is owned by us. You’re getting a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Snapr as described in these terms. You can’t copy, modify, distribute, or sell any part of Snapr without permission.

Your Feedback

If you suggest improvements or report bugs, we can use that feedback for free. Thanks for helping us get better!

6. Limitations of Liability

Snapr is provided “as is” without any guarantees. We do our best to keep it running smoothly and securely, but we can’t promise it’ll be perfect. The internet is messy, and things go wrong sometimes.

We’re Not Liable For:

  • Data loss or corruption (even if we caused it)
  • Service interruptions or downtime
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Lost profits, revenue, or business opportunities
  • Third-party actions or content

Cap on Liability: If something goes seriously wrong and we’re actually liable, our total responsibility is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months. This doesn’t apply if the law doesn’t allow it.

7. Service Availability

We aim to keep Snapr running 24/7, but we can’t promise 100% uptime. We do maintenance, updates, and sometimes things break. We’ll try to give you notice when we’re taking the service down, but emergencies happen.

We’re not liable if you can’t access Snapr, lose data during downtime, or miss important stuff because the service was down.

8. Payments and Refunds

Pro Plan

If you upgrade to Pro, you’re agreeing to pay the stated price. Payments are handled securely by Stripe, and we never see your full card details.

Cancellation and Refunds

  • You can cancel your Pro plan anytime from your account settings
  • Refunds are not available for partial months (you get access until your billing cycle ends)
  • If you cancel, you lose access to Pro features, but your content stays in Snapr (in free tier)
  • We’re not responsible for issues with Stripe, contact them if there’s a payment problem

Price Changes: We might change our pricing, but we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice. If you don’t like the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.

9. Termination

We Can Terminate Your Account If:

  • You violate these terms or our Privacy Policy
  • You’re breaking the law
  • You’re abusing the service
  • You’re inactive for more than 2 years (we’ll email first)
  • We need to shut down Snapr (unlikely, but possible)

When We Terminate:

  • You lose access immediately
  • Your data gets deleted within 30 days (unless the law requires us to keep it longer)
  • You forfeit any remaining Pro plan balance

You Can Terminate Anytime:

  • Delete your account from your settings page
  • All your data gets deleted within 30 days
  • No refunds for remaining Pro time

10. Disclaimers

No Guarantees

Snapr is provided as-is. We don’t guarantee that:

  • The service will meet your needs
  • The service will be error-free
  • Your data will be 100% safe (nothing is)
  • Third-party services we use (Supabase, Stripe, etc.) won’t mess up

Third-Party Services

Snapr uses external services (Supabase, Cloudflare, Stripe, AI providers). We’re not responsible if they cause problems. Check their terms and privacy policies too.

External Links

If you save links to external websites, we’re not responsible for their content or policies. Those are between you and them.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or legal costs arising from:

  • Your use of Snapr
  • Your content
  • Your violation of these terms or the law
  • Your infringement of someone else’s rights

In plain English: If you get us in legal trouble, you’re paying for it.

12. Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution First

If you have a problem, email us at hi@snapr.so and we’ll try to work it out. Give us 30 days to respond and resolve it.

Arbitration (for users in the US)

If we can’t resolve it informally, any legal disputes will be handled by binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), not in court. This means:

  • A neutral arbitrator will hear both sides instead of a judge or jury
  • The process is usually faster and cheaper than court
  • You’re waiving your right to sue us in court or participate in a class action

Governing Law: These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware (USA), without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

For International Users: If you’re outside the US, you may have consumer protections in your country that these terms can’t override. Contact us at hi@snapr.so if you have questions.

13. Changes to These Terms

We might update these terms if things change. When we do:

  • We’ll post the updated version here with a new date
  • For significant changes, we’ll email you
  • You’ll have a chance to review and opt out before changes take effect

If you keep using Snapr after we update the terms, that means you agree to the new version.

14. General Stuff

Entire Agreement

These Terms of Use, combined with our Privacy Policy, make up the entire agreement between you and Snapr. They replace any previous agreements.

Severability

If any part of these terms is illegal or unenforceable, that part gets removed, but the rest stays in effect.

No Waiver

If we don’t enforce something in these terms, that doesn’t mean we’re giving up the right to enforce it later.

Assignment

You can’t assign or transfer your account or these terms to anyone else. We can assign them if Snapr gets acquired or merged.
